Design Technology enables students to develop iterative design skills whilst also reflecting on their designing and making. Students will investigate design, evaluate and modify their ideas and products using methods that reflect those utilised in the design industry. We look to develop problem solving skills, creativity, curiosity and knowledge of the core principles of design.

Students that study ICT & Computing are prepared for life as digital citizens, enabling them to use and assess digital resources, but also to understand the principals of technology. They develop their understanding of how technology underpins, how data/information is collected and communicated in all walks of life, understanding how and why data is gathered and being able to turn raw data into something meaningful is essential in today’s society.

iMedia at Yardleys ensures that every student understands that media plays a central role in contemporary society and culture. Students will understand that the media has real relevance and importance in our lives today, providing us with ways to communicate, with forms of cultural expression and the ability to participate in key aspects of society.
